The Borderline Personality Disorder Resource Center is very pleased to announce that Marsha Linehan, Ph.D. is the recipient of the Fifth Annual Award for Distinguished Achievement in the Field of Severe Personality Disorders. Dr. Linehan was honored on May 23rd at a dinner held during the American Psychiatric Association's Annual Meeting in New Orleans.
Dr. Linehan is a Professor of Psychology, Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington, and Director of the Behavioral Research and Therapy Clinics, a consortium of research projects developing new treatments and evaluating their efficacy for severely disordered and multi-diagnostic populations. Her primary research is in the area of the application of behavioral models to suicidal behaviors, drug abuse, and borderline personality disorder.
The recipient of numerous honors recognizing her clinical and research contributions, Dr. Linehan is the author of several books, including two treatment manuals: Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder and Skills Training Manual for Treating Borderline Personality Disorder.
